So many things to see and do in the local area.
In walking distance of the lodge is Kilkhampton. A lovely village with shops and pubs. The local co-op is always well stocked with everything you will need for a quiet breakfast or full on barbecue!
The local pubs are also welcoming and serve good food. There are also several take away shops in the village.
Tamar Lakes is just an 8 minute drive away for water sport lovers and keen fishermen. There is a small selection of bikes for hire for a slow amble around the lake, which takes around 45 minutes. You can also find a cafe and small gift shop. During holiday times, Tamar offers wildlife tours and activities for children and forest camps.
The Little Pig is just a mile away for those keen to fish, this also has a cafe/restaurant offering lovely fresh food, Sunday roasts and small gift shop and fresh produce can be purchased.
Bude is 5 miles away with an array of shops and restaurants.
Bude hosts many other activities with; tennis courts, putting green, golf course, crazy golf, boating and cycle hire, indoor swimming and tenpin bowling.
During the summer months, Local artisans markets are held at the wharf next to the canal. Well worth a visit!
Bude Castle and museum are also worth a visit to learn more about the rich history of Bude and the surrounding areas.
Just 15-30 minutes away, up the coast, you will find the “Milky Way Adventure”, North Devon Wake Park, Hartland Abbey, The Rectory Farm Tea shop with wonderful coastal walks, Clovelly, The Big Sheep to name just a few.
Down the coast from Bude are the costal villages of Boscastle and Tintagel, steeped in history and fable. Both offer a great day out.
